#WDS2014 – Michael Hyatt – DesignedLife

Michael Hyatt is one of the speakers that I really want to see. I’ve read his book Platform and got some interesting practical tips from it.  I’m curious to discover the story that he’s going to share.

Michael shares his personal story from his childhood (good relationship dad, dad different job, starts drinking, bad relationship, … – Michael took a vow that he wants to take control of his life and business).

Michael shares three different types of life:

The drifting life: A lot of people are drifting in life – they don’t take conscious decisions
The driven life: people who are always busy busy busy

Are you going for a drifting life or driven life? Third alternative = go for a DesignedLife (being conscious)

3 Questions to be answered if you want to live a #DesignedLife:

1.  How do I want to be remembered? You can change your life now. “You are the architect of the memories that others will have about you.”

2. What is important to me? You can do anything you want but not everything you want. What are your priorities and focus. “You can do anything you want in life but not everything you want to do in life.”

3. What single brave decision do I need to take today? Don’t procrastinate. What’s your next step? All the important stuff happens outside of your comfortzone.

9_Michael_Hyatt_book_PlatformWhile Michael loves his work, it is not the most important thing in his life. That position belongs to his family. He has been married to his wife, Gail for thirty-four years. They have five daughters, four sons-in-law, and eight grandchildren. They live just outside of Nashville, Tennessee.
